The Solitary Athlete

Final Block of Training.

February 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Its good to be home. This week, I’ve started on my final block of training for the race. It feels good to be back swimming with the squad after being away for two weeks and I’m enjoying being in the pool. Five weeks to go before we rock n’roll.

After many months of procrastination, I’ve finally pulled my finger out and got my “road id” (see “roadid.com”) done. As I don’t usually carry any money, mobile or forms of id with me when I’m out running, I thought the road id was just the thing that I really needed in case I fall over by the side of the road. You know, for peace of mind.

Race simulation day is coming up on the 15th of this month. It’ll be good to use it to gauge my condition during this time. Something to look forward to.
